We want to draw your attention to this online workshop this Thursday with John Rodwell, who is notable for his role in developing the National Vegetation Classification.
This workshop will look at how we design woodlands that can meet multiple objectives, with a focus on design and delivery for biodiversity benefits.
In particular we want to explore how NVC guidance can help to inform new woodland design and long-term management.
The UKFS provides good guidance on what we should aim for, and the regulatory processes ensure that we are planting the right trees in the right place. This workshop looks to identify how we go beyond UKFS to enhance our outcomes for biodiversity over the long term.
This is a free session hosted by England’s Community Forests and City of Trees are welcoming any external partners who may want to attend. To book on please email sarah@cityoftrees.org.uk and you will be forwarded the zoom invitation.
