Event- Restoring the Temperate Rainforest, can you help?

Restoring the Temperate Rainforest – Conifer Clearance

Can you help us on the 14th of November for a day helping with rainforest restoration in the Thirlmere Valley?

Please Note- This is an opportunity to do some restoration work in the woods and volunteers should be able to do a day of manual work on rough and steep terrain. This is ideal for those looking for some work experience or who are keen for a physical day out.

The day will be run by Angus Walsh from Cumbria Woodlands, Isaac Johnson of The John Muir Trust.

Why are we doing this?

Conifer regeneration has taken over this area of native woodland, we need your help to clear it. This work is vital to create the opportunity for our temperate rainforest to expand. Participants will find out what interventions we can carry out to help our temperate rainforest recover and learn about some of the rainforest indicator species which need native woodland to survive and thrive.
