Located between the Borrowdale National Nature Reserve and the Skiddaw Forest, the Coledale Valley is a perfect location to plant some rainforest.
Cumbria Woodlands have joined up with People Plant Trees to offer two tree-planting days where you can get involved and be part of this exciting project.
The days give an opportunity to learn about, and take part in tree planting, including taking cuttings from existing willow and alder in the area to make pegs which are then planted. We will be joined by Angus Walsh from Cumbria Woodlands to talk more about temperate rainforests and how important these habitats are for biodiversity.
This planting project will provide many benefits including flood resilience, improved biodiversity, and help establish new woodland in the rainforest zone.
